Are you looking for an apprenticeship in Carpentry & Joinery Description of company Due to increased growth, Holbein Carpentry & Joinery, are looking to expand their company by employing an apprentice in Carpentry & Joinery. Further information about the company can be obtained from their website: http://www.holbeinjoinery.com Duties and responsibilities During the apprenticeship you will learn and develop new craft related skills and will become highly competent in your chosen career. You will be required to undertake Solas based apprenticeship while gaining on the job experience in all aspects of carpentry and joinery within the workshop and onsite Personal Qualities •The ideal apprentice will have the ability to read working drawings and enjoy working with wood •The appropriate candidate will need to be physically fit and able to work well with his/ her hands. •Have good attention to detail and pride in their work •Have a desire and ability to learn and take responsibility for their own learning •Have an aptitude for problem solving •Positive attitude •Good communication skills •Driven individual with a good work ethic Eligibility Minimum Educational qualification Leaving Certificate: Applicants must have obtained a grade C in ordinary level in at least 5 subjects with specific minimum grades in three of the five subjects listed Mathematics                    Grade C (O) OR Grade D (H) Construction Studies      Grade B (H) DCG/Technical drawing   Grade B (H) Engineering Grade B (H) Technology Grade B (H) Junior Certificate Applicants must also have obtained the relevant grades in the following subjects for the junior cert in Material Technology Wood Grade B (H) Technical Graphics Grade B (H) OR If candidates did not do the traditional Leaving certificate will have completed an approved Pre-apprenticeship courses Desirable Criteria but not essential Full driving licence/ process of obtaining driving licence Have some experience in the construction industry 3rd level qualification in relevant area Selection Process The selection process for the Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship at Holbein carpentry and joinery will comprise of a number of stages. Applicants must successfully complete each stage before being considered for advancement to the next stage Selection process includes: •Personal statement which includes your reasons for choosing carpentry and joinery as your chosen career •Curriculum Vitae •Short listing of candidates on the bases of personal statement and CV (N.B.
